Jensen Toboggan Slides

Jensen Toboggan Slides

Chicago, Illinois (IL), US
This pair of toboggan slides were built sometime around the 1930's. They did not reopen after the 2004 season and were torn down in May 2008.

Chicago is a very flat city due to the work of glaciers in the Ice Age, and the idea of building elevated sledding paths were popular in the early 20th Century. Unfortunately, politicians opted to tear them all down in recent years, leaving only a few known slides still operating in North America.
