Kaneb is CEO of HP Hood. A specialist in buying stakes in struggling or underperforming companies, cutting their costs, and improving their efficiency, Kaneb bought a controlling interest in Gulf Oil, then more than tripled its sales to $4.6 billion before quietly selling the stake last year. The Kanebs acquired Hood in 1995 and increased its annual sales from $600 million to around $2.3 billion, due in large part to their willingness to spend money on new products. He's also a part owner of the Red Sox, over whose home games often hovers the Hood blimp.

His net worth is estimated to be around $650 million.
