John E. McCaw is is a businessman who formerly owned McCaw Cellular in Seattle, Washington and a former part-owner of the Vancouver Canucks NHL franchise, with Francesco Aquilini. He sold his 50% steak in 2008. His older brother Craig took over the family company at 19 after father's death, and built it into early cell phone giant McCaw Cellular before selling it to AT&T in 1993 for $11.5 billion. In 2005, Forbes ranked John as one of the 400 wealthiest Americans, with a net worth of $900 million.
