Jonathan E. Colby is a Managing Director of Washington D.C.-based The Carlyle Group, one of the world's largest private equity firms. It is known for its connection to the Bush Family. He was a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group and head of Asian mergers and acquisitions at The First Boston Corporation in Tokyo. Colby also served on the National Security Council staff under the direction of Dr. Henry A. Kissinger.
Mr. Colby is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He serves as Chairman of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.
His Father, William Colby, was the director of the CIA in the 1970's. His mother, Sally Shelton-Colby, served as U.S. Ambassador to Grenada and Barbados.
