Kenny Rogers' property

Kenny Rogers' property

Atlanta, Georgia (GA), US
This property tells a tale of one old gambler as he approached the town of Sandy Springs. Now folks in Sandy Springs were not too happy with The Gambler. When at first they learned that country superstar Kenny Rogers purchased the house behind their backyard, they were excited. But one year after the purchase, the couple wished Rogers had known when to fold 'em and simply walked away from the 7.5-acre Long Island Drive property. Records show Rogers purchased the property in October 2005 for $2.3 million. Four months later, he was approved by the city to demolish the two-story home that stood on the property and fill in the backyard pool. During the summer, in accordance with city laws, Rogers workers began cutting down trees on the property. Crews also blasted away granite rock — a process the neighbors said shook their whole house — so Rogers could build his 20,000-square-foot home. But, instead of building his estate, Rogers has decided to sell the land for $3.95 million. Well played Rogers.
