Lake Sakakawea

Lake Sakakawea (StreetView)
This is a large reservoir in the north central US, impounded in 1953 by Garrison Dam, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam in the Missouri River basin in central ND. Named for the Shoshone-Hidatsa woman Sakakawea, it's the largest man-made lake entirely within North Dakota, the 2nd largest in the country by area after Lake Oahe, and the 3rd largest in the country by volume, after Lakes Mead and Powell.
