That's a fishing pond within what's called the Pocket Park. It's an attempt by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to introduce urban kids in Detroit to outdoor activities that they otherwise would have no exposure to. I did a stint with the DNR through Americorps, and we did a lot of work there. I built the archery range that you can see on the left side.
