I believe that the UAB Blazers now play home games at this stadium, now that Alabama plays only in Tuscaloosa (as opposed to Birmingham). This historic field was also called the "Football Capital of the South," and saw many, many classic games with legends like Bear Bryant.

Hey, when clicking the Google Maps Link the stadium shows differently than the supplied thumbnail. Just wondering: why is that?

This is a pretty early submission... since then Google has changed the image representing this area.
It also looks like either Google changed the overlay correspondence that caused some maps to appear streched, or that the submitter squeezed the map in the vertical direction to get the stadium to fit into the 150 by 150 box. |

Also, some people grab their thumbnais from Google Earth and Google Earth often has images from different times.
