Lockheed Martin SPY-1 Phased Array radar test facility

Moorestown, New Jersey (NJ), US
The AN/SPY-1D, AN/SPY-1D(V), SPY-1F, SPY-1F(V) and SPY-1K(V) form today's robust family of S-band multi-function phased array radar systems designed to meet the most demanding requirements and environments faced by naval forces.

A single SPY-1 multi-function radar system is unique in that it replaces numerous conventional stovepiped sensors resident on ships in the fleet today. Some of these sensors include:

* Long range volumetric search radar
* High data rate horizon search radar
* Surface search radar
* Fire control quality tracking radars

The result is a more integrated and higher capability sensor and weapon system that reduces system reaction time, enhances firepower, rejects unwanted interference and ensures safe and reliable operations. The S-band frequency range allows these systems to maintain their level of performance in all-weather operations, perform all major radar functions in a single aperture, and perform proven S-band mid-course guidance for semi-active missiles such as ESSM and SM-2.
