Louis V. Gerstner Jr. is the former Chairman and CEO of IBM (1993-2002). He is largely credited with turning around IBM's fortunes. He has also been Chairman of The Carlyle Group from 2003 to 2008, during which time it was the largest private equity firm in the world. He remains a senior advisor.
He was also formerly CEO of RJR Nabisco, and also held senior positions at American Express and McKinsey & Company.
