M/S Sallingsund formerly known as M/S Plagen

One of the former Sallingsund ferries on the route called Pinen-Plagen at todays Sallingsund Bridge.

It was build in 1958 and sailed on the Pinen-Plagen roure until May 29. 1978 when the Sallingsund Bridge was opened. Then it was layed up for a year.

1979 it was used as replacement ferry for some of the surrounding ferry routes until 1996. During this time it was modernised and renamed from M/S Plagen to M/S Sallingsund.

From 1996 it was set on the ferry route Feggesund - Næssund.

Even though the Pinen-Plagen ferry route was a small one it was one of the most famous in Denmark. Today at the Sallingsund Bridge there is a Pinen-Plagen Memorial.
