Mastehøj (Neolithic Burial Mound)

Mastehøj (Neolithic Burial Mound)

Roskilde, Denmark (DK)
Mastehøj is an ancient burial mound, from the Neolithic era, located just north of the suburb of Himmelev in Roskilde, Denmark. The mound is thought to be between 6000-5000 years old and is located in an open field between two farms. The mound is significantly visible due to it being the only mound, still visible, within the same field. The mound is one of three Neolithic burials in the area. The top of the mound has been damaged due to ploughing and gives an incredible view of the nearby fjord when standing on top of it.

The mound is easily accessible, open to the public and protected.
