Maude's House (Harold & Maude Film Location)

South San Francisco, California (CA), US
This was the location of Maude's Pullman railroad car in the 1971 film Harold and Maude. The 1971 cult classic, directed by Hal Ashby, stars Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon as Harold and Maude, it also features music by Cat Stevens. As you can see, the railroad car has long gone. It was loaned from the Western Railway Museum in Solano County, and parked on no-longer-existent railroad tracks at Oyster Point in South San Francisco. The location has changed a lot since the time of filming. The location of the railroad car was where the soulless office block just north of Eccles Avenue now sits.
