Former Merstone Railway Station

Merstone, United Kingdom (GB)
Merstone was a station on Isle of Wight. Even though the line opened in 1875 the station first appeared on the timetables in June 1876 and closed 6th February 1956. The station was opened by the Newport Junction Railway and closed by British Railways (Southern Region).

What's left today:
The platform, an island, still survives today. The station has been converted into a car park and public area for the Perowne Way, which follows part of the former trackbed. The other side of the platform is grass.
