The 32 MiG-23ML of the NVA flew in JG 9. Here were two squadrons of MiG-23ML and a squadron of MiG-23MF stationed belonged from 1983 to 1990 the machine at the Museum Sinsheim, 20 + 27 (serial No. 324018) as a "550" Squadron. The official designation was the ML 23-12A.
