John Sebastian LaRocca was the boss of the Pittsburgh crime family from 1956 until his death in 1984. He exercised a vast control over labor unions in the Pittsburgh area, was well-connected in the top mob circles, and is considered by many to be the most successful of all Pittsburgh godfathers. Thanks to aggressive anti-mob policing tactics, the family has since nearly disappeared.
LaRocca died here in his home at the age of 82.
