Morris Schinasi was a Turkish tobacco baron. Schinasi had this 35 room 12,000 sqft mansion commissioned in 1909. It still includes a Prohibition-era trap door that leads to a tunnel that once extended all the way to the Hudson river.

The mansion remains the only detatched single family home in all of Manhattan.
