Mount Vernon Raceway

Stock cars raced on this banked 1/4 mile dirt oval track, which has been inactive since 2010. The track opened in the late 1980's. It is located alongside interstate highway 57/64.

Over the years, the facility has gone by several names, including I-57/1-64 Raceway, Jefferson County Raceway, K&L Raceway, I-57 Raceway, and Mount Vernon I-57 Speedway.

In August 2005, the track made news headlines when two people died and six were injured when a race car crashed through the fence and into the grandstands.
