Nakhoda Mosque is the largest mosque in present-day Kolkata, and was built in 1962 by Abdar Rahim Osman at a cost of roughly 1.5 million Indian Rupees (in 1926). It can house nearly 10,000 men for the 'Namaaz' (prayer).

The mosque is has three domes and two minarets 151 ft. tall.
