Northrop Grumman's Pascagoula shipyard, where many of the U.S. Navy's Arleigh Burke-class destroyers (DDG) and San Antonio-class amphibious assault ships (LPD) are built. Two nearly completed DDGs are visible at the southeast corner of the wharf and one on the northeast side. Also visible in the center of the southern end of the yard are two partially completed DDGs and one partially completed LPD. Just north of the two partial DDGs are portions of several more on the building ways.

These ships are transfered to the water by way of a tracked carriage system that moves them into the submersible dock section visible just south of the LPD.

Some of these ships are likely the ones damaged by Katrina.
