Google Earth's historical imagery from November 2012 captured the set location of Noah's ark in the 2014 film Noah starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, and Douglas Booth.
The set was built in Long Island's Planting Fields Arboretum State Park. CGI effects were added to show the nearby Methuselah's mountain and the surrounding landscape. A second ark set was built in a studio in Brooklyn. Much of the movie was also filmed in Iceland.
With a touch of irony, Super Storm Sandy wreaked havoc on this region during filming and caused a delay in the film's production.
