North Point Lighthouse

North Point Lighthouse

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (WI), US
A 28 foot tall lighthouse was built closer to shore in 1855. In 1887, a 39 foot tall lighthouse was built on this location after the shore eroded near the original lighthouse. The light from the older lighthouse was installed in the new one.

Around the turn of the century, trees grew tall enough to obscure the light from the lighthouse. In 1912, a 35 foot structure was built next to the 39 foot lighthouse. The 39 foot lighthouse was then placed on top of the new structure, forming the current 74 foot lighthouse.
