Oak Ridge Observatory

Harvard, Massachusetts (MA), US
This astronomical observatory is operated by Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institution, and is located in the hills above the town of Harvard. Facilities include reflector telescopes, and several crumbling historic astronomical instruments. Also on the site is an 84-foot diameter radio telescope used by SETI's BETA program - the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence's Billion Channel Extra-Terrestrial Assay - where 250 million channels can be scanned at once to search for "intelligent" radio signals from outer space.
