MeeresWelten is a special exhibition of the German Oceanographic Museum and is located directly on the Baltic Sea in a ocean blue dome located on the harbour island of Stralsund.
In this exhibition visitors are invited to explore the unknown world of the deep sea by means of multi-media games and hands-on exhibits; in a playful way it is demonstrated how the ocean is threatened by overfishing. Different sections of the exhibition answer questions such as how a Tsunami develops, what is methane ice and which kind of swimming costume was chaste around 1900. MeeresWelten addresses the entire family.
