Odd structure straddling canal

Odd structure straddling canal

No idea what this is but it loos interesting. There is one on each side of teh canal. The one on the East side has a long bunker type corridor leading to it. Could just be pump housed but they look somewhat WWII-ish.

Probably footings for old power lines. They had to be kept high to allow boats to pass under.
