This was the old parking lot of an old Ster Kinekor Drive-in. In the days when the drive-in was still in operation, a flea market operated in the parking lot on Sundays. All food was sold by the Drive in, at their cafeteria.
Ster Kinekor eventually sold the Drive-in to the flea market operators and the market was properly established.

The drive in was called Panorama Drive In and was one of the favourite's our family went to. Back in the early 70's, the surrounding area was virtually deserted as urban development had not yet taken place apart from the original Glenanda area. I can still remember the advert for "Southdale Shopping Centre" that was shown every screening at Panorama
