The Calgary Olympic Village was situated on The University of Calgary campus
near the Olympic Oval and McMahon Stadium. The decision to locate the main
athletes village at the university was first suggested by the Calgary Olympic
Development Association (CODA) in 1978.

In total, seven residence halls were used for the Games. These were Rundle,
Kananaskis, Norquay, Brewster, Castle, Glacier and Olympus Halls. A total of 2144
athletes and team officials were housed in these units.
