Description: The Palacio de la Moncloa, settled in Madrid, is the official residence for the Prime Minister of Spain since 1977, when Adolfo Suarez moved the residence from a palace situated in the centre of Madrid, at Paseo de la Castellana. The residence is surrounded by several other buildings which altogether form the Moncloa complex. The ministry of the president is situated in this complex, as well as the vice presidencies (when they exist) and the press office.

The palace used to belong to the Duke of Monclova, of whose name derives the actual name of the palace, which was completely destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. It was later reconstructed and serves since the Spanish transition to democracy as the official residence to the Prime Minister of Spain.
