Phillip G. Schrager founded of the Pacesetter Corp. in 1962 when he was 24 years old. The Omaha-based home improvement company eventually exceeded $100 million in annual revenues. At its peak, Pacesetter had 2,500 employees, with operations in Kansas City, Mo., Oklahoma City, Denver, Minneapolis and St. Louis. Schrager sold the company in 2004. Schrager assembled a collection of contemporary art that includes works by such masters as Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg. He was inducted into the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame in 2000, the same year he was named King of Ak-Sar-Ben. He passed away in 2010.
