In front of the Brignole train station is Piazza G. Verde, a pretty green area which leads to the enormous Piazza della Vittoria with the striking "Arch to the Fallen" standing tall at the center.

Built on 1931 by Architect Marcello Piacentini in onour of 680.000 italian soldiers and 4675 Genova Soldiers fallen in World War I.
