Pinellas Plant

Pinellas Plant

Largo, Florida (FL), US
Up until 1995, the Pinellas Plant was part of the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Complex. Although its primary product was neutron generators, it also produced other components such as lightning-arrestor connectors, capacitors, magnetics, and optoelectronic devices. Environmental remediation activities were started in 1994, and the plant was sold to the Pinellas County Industry Council in 1995. It is now the Young–Rainey STAR Center, a high-tech commercial industrial center and "business incubator".

I worked there when the birds eye view (Bing Maps) shots were taken and my blue Honda Accord is visible in 3 of the 4 birds eye shots near the green tank taken sometime between 2003 and 2008 when I worked there. Raytheon currently operates there but isn't big enough to occupy the entire building so many companies, one of which I worked for, also occupy the building. There's a lot of Hum-vees in the back (North side) of building that Raytheon installs big domed antennas on which is also visible in the birds eye view.
