Pit, The
Copper mine in Butte Montana usually referred to as "The Pit" Zoom in and out to get the real scale on this thing. It's almost unimaginably huge!
Once heralded as The Richest Hill on Earth, Butte, MT now serves as the beginning of the nation's largest Superfund area, stretching 120 miles from the Berkeley downstream to the Milltown Dam just east of Missoula, MT.
