1900. Active; focal plane 11 m (36 ft); three white flashes, in a 2+1 pattern, every 12 s. 9 m (30 ft) round cast iron tower with tapered base, four ribs, lantern, and gallery. Tower painted white, lantern and gallery black. This is a typical French prefabricated tourelle. It has been repainted recently and seems to be in good condition. Located on the west side of the older Mahajanga harbor, marking the entrance from the Baie de Bombetoka.
