Possible NASR-9000 Fuel Air bombs/bomb casings

6th of October City, Egypt (EG)
The NASR-9000 bomb is a thermobaric bomb weighing 9 tons and manufactured by the Egyptian military since the 1980's. This type of ordinance is commonly referred to as a fuel-air bomb and would be comparable to a BLU-82 "Daisy Cutter" or GBU-43/B "MOAB" in the U.S. inventory.

Since the Google images are newer than the Bing, and it's not in the Bing, it has to a fairly new facility. Note the array of strage tanks for mixing ingredients.

What would they drop it from? A C130? Great catch Alkavian!

It would have to be a smaller cargo plane. I believe they do have some c130s, but also some Soviet cargo planes... The US dropped the Daisy Cutters from a C130...

The Daisy Cutter was developed to knock helocopter landing zones out of the jungle. The Egyptian may have other ideas for them.

That's what I was wondering about, Egypt got any dense jungles near by? LOL!

Daisies are also good for opening up paths for MBTs and IFVs thru minefield's.

I would say the purpose of such weapons in the Middle East are largely for the fear factor. With the exception of an undeclared stock of nukes in Israel, the Middle Eastern countries raced to thermobaric munitions as the next best thing for making mushroom clouds. They are not really that practical if an enemy has effective air defense, but as Nico pointed out, you can clear mine fields, trench lines, caves, and several city blocks with one of these.
