This multi-purpose arena opened on March 14, 1975. It was known as the Von Braun Center until it was renamed following a renovation project in 2010. Bill Propst, a successful local businessman in the field of generic medicine, donated $5 million towards the renovation.

The arena seats 6,602 for ice hockey games and 7,198 for basketball games. Concerts, shows, and various sporting events keep the building busy year-round.

This is home to the University of Alabama - Huntsville Chargers NCAA Division I ice hockey team, the Hunstville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League, the Alabama Hammers of the Professional Indoor Football League, and the Dixie Derby Girls of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association. Previous tenants also include an indoor soccer team and an NBA D-League team.
