Provine Chapel

Clinton, Mississippi (MS), US
Provine Chapel is a historic building on the Mississippi College campus that dates back to 1860 and the Civil War. Union General Ulysses S. Grant used the building for his wounded troops and the first floor as a stable for his horses. After the war the chapel would revert back to a church for the students and citizens of Clinton. Today the chapel is used to house the university's Department of Christian Studies and Philosophy and classrooms. The chapel is also used for concerts, weddings and other special events.
