The castle was a defender of Puñoenrostro's hamlet, depopulated from remote date. It is dated in the century XIV and it was yielded by Enrique IV to Diego Arias de Avila, his book-keeper and secretary. Named counts of Puñoenrostro his successors under Carlos I, in 1862 sold it with its pasture.
