Resolute Bay is also known as: Qausuittuq "place with no dawn". Resolute Bay is truly the land of the midnight sun. The sun shines 24 hours a day from about April 29 to August 13 each year.

Located on the south coast of Cornwallis Island, Resolute Bay is the "jumping off place" for expeditions to the North Pole, Quttinirtaaq (Ellesmere Island) National Park and Franklin Expedition tours.

Qausuittuq Inns North, operated by Tudjaat Co-op, is located in the Hamlet of Resolute Bay. Qausuittuq (pronounced "cow-sweet-took") is a new hotel opened in the spring of 1999. It features 10 rooms, each with private bath, in-room phones, coffee service, and Internet connections. The room rate is $195 per person per night. The hotel is decorated with local artwork and features a library, viewing deck and meeting room. The dining room specializes in Canadian and Northern cuisine. Guests are provided with free movies, VCR, books and complementary shuttle service to and from the airport. A unique collection memorabilia from the Arctic Explorers is available to enjoy during your visit.
