Ralph Engelstad Arena (Minnesota)

This 3,569 seat arena opened on November 29, 2003. It is not to be confused with the identically-named arena at the University of North Dakota.

Ralph and Betty Engelstad donated about $13.5 million of the estimated total cost of $15 million to construct the venue. A native of Thief River Falls, Ralph was the multi-millionaire owner of the Imperial Palace casino-hotels. He died one year before this arena opened.

The arena is primarily used for local amateur and high school ice hockey games and public skating, but it also hosts basketball games, wrestling matches, and shows. In addition to the arena, the building includes a multi-purpose community room, eight locker rooms, a weight room, a public walking track, and two concession stands.
