Ravenwood Manor from "Beautiful Creatures"

This house was a filming location for the 2013 romantic fantasy film "Beautiful Creatures", which was based on a novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, and Emma Thompson.

This mansion was built in the 1830's. It was chosen for its antebellum rectangular exterior and was dressed up to look spookier than in real life. Most interior scenes of the house were filmed at a soundstage in New Orleans. Other scenes of the movie were filmed in Covington and St. Francisville, Louisiana.
