Reference track for characterizing pavement surfaces

Nantes, France (FR)
This track, in the shape of a bishop's staff, contains a raised curve at the end and a straight-line section with test boards. It provides the appropriate safety and reliability conditions for conducting a multitude of tests. Designed for the testing, calibration and certification of continuous measurement instruments used for identifying pavement surface characteristics, its range of application has been extended to the analysis and modeling of various types of vehicle performance, such as adherence and road noise propagation. Its scope of implementation will be further broadened over the next several years by becoming integrated into the project called "Testing means devoted to road safety and the smart road", for the purpose of building a new exceptional testing facility.
