From 1963 to 1998 Goode Airport in Southlake was a popular small community airfield with a paved runway just over 3100 feet in length and approximately 20 hangars, all on a property that was no more than 500 feet wide!
Encroachment by suburban development in the 1990s resulted in Goode Airport's closure in 1998 and this remnant remained well into 2005 just southeast of the intersection of Southlake Blvd and Davis Blvd.
As of 2005 the remnant has been demolished to make way for a soccer complex. In the LL photos, you can see the northern end of what was once Runway 17/35, the turn around at the end, a taxiway and the impressions on the vegetation left by the hangars long since demolished.
