Rentschler Field

Rentschler Field

East Hartford, Connecticut (CT), US
Rentschler Field is no longer there and at the same time it is very much in existence.

From the 1930's until the 1990's, the Pratt & Whitney engine company operated their own factory airfield on this site.

Pratt & Whitney's current parent company, United Technologies, donated the site to the state in 1999.

At the northern end of the airfield on August 30, 2003 a new era began for "The Rent" -- now in the form of a brand new 40,000 seat stadium, also named Rentschler Field.

The Rent is the home field of the University of Connecticut Huskies football team. The stadium's also hosted U.S. Men's Soccer, high school football, as well as concerts from many big names in music.
