Robert Kraft is an American business magnate. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Kraft Group, a diversified holding company with assets in paper and packaging, sports and entertainment, real estate development and a private equity portfolio. His sports holdings include the National Football League's New England Patriots and Major League Soccer's New England Revolution, and Gillette Stadium. He also owns the Boston Uprising, the first eSports team in New England.

In 1988, Kraft outbid several competitors to buy the would be Gillette stadium out of bankruptcy court from Sullivan for $22 million, a move to help him buy his favorite team the new england patriots. The stadium was considered to be outdated and nearly worthless, but the purchase included the stadium's lease to the Patriots, which ran through 2001. While Kraft placed a bid on the Patriots franchise as well, he lost the bidding to Victor Kiam. The lease was ironclad enough to end Sullivan's three-decade involvement with the Patriots. When he and Kiam tried to move the team to Jacksonville, Kraft refused to let them break the lease. As a result, when Kiam was nearly brought down by bad investments of his own, he was forced to sell the Patriots to James Orthwein who would sell to Kraft in 1994 who would outright purchase of the team for $172 million.

Kraft is currently in the process of building a 17,000 sqft British Colonial styled house designed by Pennsylvania architect Peter Zimmerman.

With an impressive net worth of $6.2 billion dollars, Kraft is a model of business successes. Robert Kraft made his fortune as Chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group, which holds a huge variety of assets, helping his business stay profitable no matter the economy. He is likely best known however as the primary holder of the New England Patriots, and his other sports teams.
He formed his Kraft Group paper business in 1998, which operates in 90 countries and has sales over $2 billion. Meanwhile, he bought New England Patriots for $172 million in 1995, a football club which is now worth more than $2.6 billion.
