Located next to the town of Xanten in the modern-day Germany, lies the remains of an impressive Roman settlement. The settlement dates back to 15 BC and was destroyed in 70 AD.
The "Archäologischer Park Xanten" is built on the site of the old Roman settlement and many of the Roman structures have been excavated and rebuilt as part of the park. At the site, one can see the remains of temples, an amphitheatre and other structures that have been excavated at the site.
