It is worth a few minutes to scan NE and SW from this spot along these remains of the Appian Way south of Rome. Man interesting Roman ruins along the road.

The Appian Way (Latin: Via Appia) was the most important ancient Roman road. It ended in Brindisi, Apulia. Its importance is indicated by its common name, recorded by Statius.
