These can be seen from the main road.

A little over 100 years ago the Standard Portland Cement Company mined limestone and clay in quarries next to its manufacturing plant at what was then known as Napa Junction.

While the plant was in operation many workers and their families lived on site. After the closure of the cement works a number of families stayed on at the abandoned facility.

I've heard it described as a cement factory. Haven't gotten around to visiting it yet.
