S/S Manxman

Sunderland, United Kingdom (GB)
The SS Manxman is the last surviving coastal turbine passenger steamer in the UK. She was built in 1955 for The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. She served until 1982. She is currently laid up at Pallion’s Shipyard, Sunderland on the River Wear awaiting her fate. She was vandalised recently and will be put on sale on the scrap market. There is a project to save her but many of the supporters have withdrawn their support and future of Manxman looks quite bleak.
