I'm not sure if this field is still in active use. There are no planes to be seen anywhere. The field is near the center of New Delhi and is likely to be from the British rule (pre 1947).

This is Safdarjang Airport, formerly known as Willingdon Airfield, and used by light aviation and helicopters. There have been plans to redevelop the site.

I passed by the airstrip on the 20/08/05 but could see only helicopters. Also note the displaced threshold for runway 30 about halfway down the strip which I assume was/is to provide enough height for a safe approach over the Flyover, still looks like a rather hairy approach to me though.

Is there anybody out there flying light aircraft from here?
