Built in 1977, this half-mile high-banked race track closed it's gates on March 28, 2007. The track slowly deteriorated for the next five years and was close to being demolished and turned into farmland.

In 2012, Unique Track Solutions struck a deal with the track owner and city officials to repair and operate the speedway. The gates reopened with a three-day OctoberFast event, which drew over 120 race teams and about 5000 fans.

The track was originally known as Highway 16 Raceway. Future NASCAR champion Terry Labonte won the first late model sportsman season championship at the track in 1977. The track was sanctioned by NASCAR from 1990-2006.
